Daymark Energy Advisors was retained by Gloucester EDIC to access the capability of electric system in the North Shore region to meet current and future needs. Key Findings of the Report included:
‐Transmission and distribution systems serving the region are at or near capacity.
‐The ability to support demand, and accommodate expansion, is limited.
‐Gloucester and the North Shore region are exposed to risks of “single point of failure” resulting from service emanating from one transmission substation in East Beverly.
‐The potential economic consequences of inaction are significant for the area, as well as greatly inhibiting the area’s efforts to transition to a decarbonize energy system and achieve state-wide carbon neutral goals.
